Maritime Archaeology – A Hands-on Presentation

The Port Washington Historical Society invites you to a special presentation.

Jordan has worked both as a museum educator and as a archaeologist both on land and under the water. Jordan will bring his dive gear and talk about the equipment that a diver needs to do their job. He also will have a large map where kids of all ages can take their boat on a great lakes voyage to learn about great lakes geography and the types of jobs great lakes ships performed, puzzles for you to complete that show historic great lakes type vessels, and pictures of actual shipwrecks where you can match parts of a ship.

The Light Station will be open on Saturday from 1PM-4PM for tours. Children over six can climb to the tower for a $3.00 admission fee. Adults are $6.00 The presentation is free. So come up to the bluff. The view of the harbor can’t be beat!
